  • Our first visit to Epworth By The Sea was for the St. Simons Island Storytelling Festival. What a lovely site with event venues all in close proximity. The staff were friendly, the food was varied with hot dishes and a salad bar, and the meeting spaces were excellent for listening to the tellers. Our room at the Turner Lodge was clean, the beds were comfortable, and if it had been warmer we'd have loved sitting on our balcony overlooking the river and marshes. The orange sherbet dawns and sunsets were punctuated by palms and live oaks festooned with Spanish moss. I loved having the excellent coffee machine in the central hallway of each floor available 24 hours a day.
    We highly recommend Epworth and their Storytelling Festival!
  • My husband and I have always loved storytelling and we love Epworth. The festival was the weekend before his birthday and what better way to celebrate? The 2020 festival exceeded our expectations at all levels. We laughed and we cried and we remembered storytellers of the last whom we loved. This was the perfect weekend.
